Before the application
What is the best way to prepare before I submit an application?
You want to know if fme suits you? Get an impression of your potential colleagues and our company culture or browse through our Culture Book.
Can I also get information about a position in advance by phone?
What if there is currently no suitable position for me?
There is currently no suitable position for you? No problem, just send us an unsolicited application here and let us know in which area you would like to work.
How much time should I allow for my application?
Provided you have prepared all the documents, you will need about 5 minutes for the online application process.
How can I apply for a job?
You have the possibility to apply via our online portal, of course also mobile.
Can I apply through my mobile device?
Yes, the online application is, of course, also possible from smartphone, tablet, etc.
How does the online application work? What data is required?
When applying online, simply enter your contact details and upload your CV and, if necessary, any other documents.
Is there a maximum file size for the attachments?
No, there is no maximum file size for your resume and other documents. Ideally, all documents together should not exceed 15MB.
Which format should my application documents have?
Ideally, you should provide us with your documents in pdf format. However, other formats such as .docx, .jpg and .png are also possible.
What documents should I attach to my application?
Ideally, you will send us your resume as well as a cover letter and references / certificates / project lists or similar.
Can and should I apply for multiple job openings?
You are welcome to apply for more than one position. Even if you are only applying for one position, we have other possible positions in mind and may approach you directly about other options.

What do I have to consider when applying for an apprenticeship?
First of all, you should read the job advertisement carefully and check whether you find yourself in the profile described. We place great importance on understanding your motivation for the apprenticeship. Perhaps you already have practical experience through first internships, of which you can give us a first impression in the cover letter?
When should I apply for an apprenticeship?
Ideally, you should apply as from September for the coming apprenticeship year. First come, first serve 😉
When does the apprenticeship start?
The apprenticeship starts annually on August 1st.
How does the apprenticeship work?
Your three-year apprenticeship is divided into different blocks. You will find a detailed description here.
When and how do classes take place at the vocational school?
Vocational school education takes place in block form, which means that the practical assignments at our company and the vocational school alternate regularly and each last a few weeks.

I have applied. What happens next?
In the next step you will receive a confirmation of receipt. Your application will now be reviewed as quickly as possible and forwarded to the relevant department. As soon as the feedback has been received, we will inform you about the further process.
When will I receive feedback on my application?
We always try to ensure a speedy process, so you should have heard from us after 1 week at the latest. In times of vacation or illness it may take a little longer, but in these cases you will receive information about the interim status.
Can I change my uploaded documents afterwards?
If you would like to change your documents later, please send them to us by e-mail to personal@fme.de.
What does the typical application process look like?

Are you applying as a Director, Sales Manager, Managing or Principal Consultant? Then, after the initial interview, we will invite you to a second interview with one of our board members.
Who can I contact if I have questions about the status of my application?
The responsible HR Business Partner is specified in every job advertisement. If this person should not be available once, the colleagues will be happy to further help you.
I have received an invitation for a job interview. What can I expect and what should I be aware of?
We are often asked which dress code is appropriate – business casual is always a good choice in case of doubt 😉
